I run now. I run 3.1 miles (or, 5 kilometers) every day. I run that distance in a little less than half an hour. Today I ran on the track at the local middle school, and I ran the 5K in 27 minutes and 49 seconds.
This time last year I weighed almost 300 pounds and I could hardly walk. Today I weigh 170 and I ran 3.1 miles in just under 29 minutes.
Work for what you want and you can have it. And it's worth it. It's worth every drop of sweat, it's worth every ache, every pain, every embarrassing defeat, every fall, every fear, every single time you have to wipe off the blood and choke down the spit and get back up.
I am not quite where I want to be. But I've never been happier about where I am.
